Collaboration

Do nothing; then something will happen

In one very strange piece published by Walter Chen on 99u, the author proposes a new organization of work and thought that moves away from top priorities, therefore making them more likely to happen (?).

The trick, Chen writes, is to work on other projects from the list, during which the procrastinating mind will naturally drift off to other random tasks, eventually converging to the top priorities without seeing it as an unsurmountable hurdle but rather as the result of the natural wandering of the busy mind.

"Structured procrastination requires a heavy dose of self-deception", finds Chen quoting philosopher John Perry's essay, "Structured Procrastination".

Strange, but nonethless informative.
